Our day apart.....

Sam started daycare this morning, because I started a new job today!
I am applying to the nursing program in Jan and really wanted to work at the hospital for tuition reimbursement. So I thought last wednesday night I would submit an application for a position in the lab. I was not really looking for a job quite yet, but it just kinda happened....
They wanted me to start today, so we scrambled to find a daycare for Sam.
I found a really good one, that didnt smell and they do pre-school too. We did a trial run yesterday, while I watched. He did good, but had to keep making sure I was there.
So this morning I woke him up, which was rough on both of us, got him all ready and we were off. After dropping him off, I cried all the way to work. That was the hardest thing ever, especially when you leave them screaming mama. I worked til 3:30 and then had class at 5:30. So I feel like I didnt get to see him enough today. I couldnt stop kissin him and squishin his bum tonight, I missed him so much!! We havent been seperated from each other in a really long time. I know it will be good for both of us and I am not full time so its gonna be ok....I think.....
He was so cute this morning. He even posed for this picture! He looks so big, I just cant believe it.

Brag Books

I love to scrapbook and for awhile now I have been making brag books for my baby shower gifts. All you have to do is add your pictures! Pretty neat huh? This is one I just finished today! It kinda folds out, instead of opening like an actual book.

This is the back.....

Wrangler Butts Drive Me Nuts!!

Sam had his birthday party on Saturday with both our families. It was a cowboy theme this year! I love love to theme things, I usually start planning his birthday like 4 months in advance! So he had to look the part, I found him the cutest outfit from Reams! He was so cute in his wranglers, boots and belt buckle. I couldnt get enough shots of his bum that day!!

His sheriff badge had his name engraved into it too!Every cowboy needs a gun, so he had a bubble gun. The holster held the bubbles, he loved it!
My two cowboys! They are so good lookin'!!!
These were his invitations....Sam's cake. I just kinda winged this one, I must say it turned out better than I thought....This was cake #2. Had a little trauma in the kitchen friday night!! haha
His cupcakes, with cactus cookies in them. I loved makin the cookies, I found some great icing for them that made it so easy! I stole the idea from Alexis and her creative mom! ;) I also found these great boot shape mugs. You can kinda see em in this picture. They were great for our homemade rootbeer! The party favors!! I went to Smith & Edwards and got a bunch of their 5 cent candies. I love that store! They have every old fashioned candy you can think of.

Sam's birthday

The morning of Sam's birthday was the day we left, so we woke him up early to open his present. I love to theme things so, he got woody and buzz and a musical card that plays "you got a friend" He loved them, I have had them for 4 months so it was hard not to give it to him early.

Our flight was at 4:20 and Clint likes to get places like 8 hours early. I talked him into letting us stop at the beach before we headed to the airport. That is why we are not in swimsuits, it was a spur of the moment thing! We had to let Sam see the beach....We stopped at Venice beach, BEAUTIFUL!!! I really should have planned better so we had more time there because of course Sam loved it and freaked when we left. At least he has seen the ocean and put his feet in it!!It was a great day, perfect temp. perfect end to my baby's birthday!!!

The magic of Disney

Clint and Sam in front of California Adventure Riding Francis the lady bug
Sam saying hello to Goofy
Sam and I inside Mickeys house
Sam taken dad for a ride
We got off the pinocchio ride one morning and were handed these dream passes! They are so that you can skip the line anytime of the day on all the big rides in both parks! I guess they only give out like 100 or so, people said that it is a big deal! There were only a few rides Sam could ride so we ended up giving them away after we did those rides. We had a search criteria to give them away though. It had to be a young couple with no kids that looked like they were on their honeymoon. We found a cute couple, that Clint almost tackled down, they were from Utah too! Imagine that!
Cruella Deville...Sam hated her, she was the only character that freaked him out....
Riding Dumbo. We also had a magic morning one day and got to go into the park before it opened so we could ride all the rides with no lines. Sam did so good on all the rides, he cried when we had to get off, but he really loved them all. I thought the submarine ride was fun, it is all done up like nemo now and the new toy story rides in both parks were great!!!
This was our magic morning! Sam was running all through main street and through the castle. We had a lady come up to us in a ride to tell us how cute she thought Sam was and that it made her morning to see him so excited and running to get to the rides.

Sully was so funny! He was picking on me and Sam didnt like that he was being "mean" to his mommy. So he got mad at him! Made us laugh!!
Sam had to touch all the noses. They have this thing called photopass, where a photographer takes all your pictures and you can view them on the internet when you get home and purchase them. We had a alot of cute ones with them, so I will have to post them once I get them in the mail.
They had lots of plays and stuff like that, we only went to the brother bear one though. He loved Kota and Kinai. He got involved and sat in amazement for the whole thing.
The petting zoo. Which contained goats and a cow! woo hoo.... Sam of course loved it, I was nervous though. I thought they would kick us or bite us. I am a wimp!!

We had such a great and magical time! Sam was perfect and we were so happy to end our summer with such a great trip! We got to be kids again ourselves!! I love my boys and loved being with them. Thank you Clint for working so hard for us and for our vacation!

Dinner with Mermaid

So, we got Sam an autograph book and had to fill it up! We had a hard time meeting "mermaid" so I decided to make reservations at her restraunt. Our last dinner was spent with the princesses. I know, I know I have a boy not a girl...But he loves ariel, so I had to do it! (Our picture with her was taken by the restraunt, so I dont have one on my camera)...Anyways he loved Belle and Mulan. He was quite the little flirt!! Eating with the characters was so fun! It was a little pricey, but so worth it....

Parades

The parades were amazing!! One of my favorite things we did! Sam loved it and waved to all the characters. He got to wear a badge that said its my birthday, so all the characters paid lots of attention to him, which was so funny. The pixar parade at California adventure was the best, it was also a water parade. All the characters looked so real....Sam's favorite was "mermaid" of course. We were not able to make it to the electrical parade, because by the time it got dark, Sam was spent! Maybe next time!

I'm goin to Disneyland!!

Sam was on overload!! He was so excited to see everything! We had a 3 day hopper pass (so we could go between Disneyland and California adventure) so we were able to do and see everything! Here are a couple pictures from our first day. I have so many pictures, I have to just pick a few and do them in groups! So lots more to come.......

Breakfast with Goofy

We woke up early our first day and had breakfast with goofy at the Disney hotel. It was so fun! Sam loved all the characters, especially chip & dale. They did dancing and the kids got to bang pots and pans together. Sam joined right on in with everything! So did Clint and I......

The plane ride

Sam's first plane ride went so smoothly. We were lucky enough to have an extra seat next to us there and coming home. We kept him busy with new toys he has never seen before and a movie. The trip home we got really lucky and he slept the entire time. He loved touching the tv screens and looking out the window! We were so excited to get to Disneyland!!
