ER

Sam had his first ER visit last night! Diagnosis is.......A broken arm, his humerus.
Before I left for school last night he had fallen off a little plastic slide. It was not very far off the ground, so I didnt really think anything of it. He had stopped crying and so I left. when I came back to pick him up to go get Clint, Nana said he was crying the whole time and saying owie. He had fallen asleep, so I took him with me to run get Clint from the airport and then go to the ER to have them look at it. We thought it was just bruised or maybe dislocated. We got to the ER at about 8 and they were sooo busy! They were actually really nice though, and we were even at Davis! They took some x-rays and came back to tell us it was a small fracture right under the joint. He has to wear a sling until Tuesday when he can see the bone dr. Then he'll decide if it should be casted or stay in the sling after the swelling goes down. They said it wont affect his growth either, since it wasnt in the growth plate.
Sam did so good, given the circumstances. He tried to laugh and play, but would forget and try to raise his arm and then he would cry. It was a sad night!! He didnt sleep good either! Although he is doing better this morning. He is trying to get use to playing one handed. He doesnt try to take off the sling either.
I just cant believe he has a broken arm and he is only 2! I hope this isnt a sign of things to come!!!! My poor little guy! We love you Sammy!

When I heard this, I felt so sad for Sam. Poor little guy. If he is anything like his dad, injuries like this and stitiches are definitely in his future. Good luck and give Sammy a hug and a kiss for us.

I am so sorry, poor little dude! It is so hard when they get owies, that we can't fix for them. He sounds like a trooper! Good luck, I hope it heals quick so he feels better!

Poor little guy :( That is no fun at all. I have had to take Lundyn to Davis ER before and I must say it wasnt so bad, and really I prefer other hospitals.... Hope he gets feeling better!

Danielle,

What a surprise to find a comment from you on my blog! It was good seeing you the other day as well. I'm so in love with your little boy's red hair. Toooo cute. Poor thing. I hope he recovers soon. BTW, my son loves to run over to your dad's house. He ran right into the back yard a few weeks ago and your dad gave him a popsicle. It was really sweet.
